In January and February 2010 you can get a discount on your water bill by paying in advance. This only applies to those who have piped (city) water from CESPM.
If you pay for a year in advance (based on your 2009 consumption) the discount is 12%. Paying 6 months in advance the discount is 7.5%.
The offer from CESPM is valid until the end of February 2010. You will continue to get monthly water readings and bills, but won't need to pay anything more until or unless your consumption eventually exceeds the amount prepaid for.
You can make the annual payment at the CESPM office, online at www.cespm.gob.mx and at Oxxo stores.
It's probably worth carefully checking that this will be counted as an annual payment and that the discount will be applied. As I don't have piped water, I don't know the exact process for that.
